Scott Holleran is close to celebrating his five-year mark at Hattie Ide Chaffee. And we will be celebrating with him. He is in charge of maintaining the physical facility and keeping a well-cared-for roof over our collective heads.
As a former independent contractor, Scott has worked on projects that leveraged his skills in roofing, plumbing, electrical work and more. After 30 years, he reached a point in his career where he wanted to go to work at the same place every day.
“I like people and being part of a team, working together toward completion of a project. It’s fulfilling. I also enjoy fixing things and having variety in my day,” explains Scott.
His role in overseeing all maintenance and competencies for the building includes making sure all safety measures are in place, keeping up with preventative maintenance and, during COVID, creating barriers and implementing social distancing measures.
Especially appreciated were the footpaths he made using the facility snowplow so family members could visit their loved ones from outside the building via their windows in the snowy winter months.
Scott enjoys having interaction with the Hattie Ide Chaffee residents and jokes that the residents like his dance moves.
Outside of his contributions to Hattie Ide Chaffee, Scott spends his time keeping his five-year-old safe, healthy and (during COVID) entertained. A resident of Danielson, CT, Scott can also be found riding his Yamaha Stratoliner motorcycle to work on a nice day.
